Technology Blog #1: Developing a Connected Learning Model and why it applies to my major

  






  Chapter 2 focuses on creating a connected learning environment. The chapter highlights how education is evolving with technology. Learners are motivated and connected. Networking is another key concept of this chapter. Networking allows online learners to have a support system, confidence, advice and knowledge. Networking also allows different career opportunities and business growth. Finally this chapter discussed interest- driven learning and academic achievement. Students want to learn more when its about personal interests and they see that they are succeeding. 

    Chapter 2 connects to my future career, psychology nursing. This chapter relates to psychology; understanding how learning occurs, understanding motivation, and how social interactions influence how one acts. This chapter connects to Bandura's Social Learning Theory, which expresses learning through observation and interaction. This ties into the chapters focus on social engagement and how individuals learn from observing others, especially direct experiences. Each individual develops their own identities and social connections which influences their well-being. 

    Chapter 2 also connects to the nursing aspect of my career. Patient-centered care is one of the main aspects; individual needs, preferences, and interests. Interest driven learning promotes motivation and engagement. When the student is motivated he/she had the eagerness to learn. In nursing most work involves being apart of a team. Therefore, peer-supported learning is a key aspect. Last but not least, with new technology developing most nurses notes, like charts, are online. In conclusion, it is very important for students to learn. digital tools since technology is advancing especially with education.

    Reading your Blog I can completely agree with you on how this chapter focuses on the networking for online learners and how it gives them more of an opportunity to learn better and help them succeed faster. I love how you showed how your career enhances the ideas you have wrote about in this blog as well. Seeing that you want to be a psychology nurse does go very well with this chapter as well. The needs of your patients and seeing how you tied into your individual learning is a really cool way of using the chapter to incorporate not only the patients point of view but yours as well to so very good job.

    In my career that I currently have I do agree that networking is extremely important, networking with people in your career field is important because it will possibly give you more opportunities for your career. Therefore, for your career in the nursing field I can definitely see the aspects of having interests in your patients. Do you believe networking can is an important aspect with nursing?

    Hello Amanda! Chapter 2 does a good job explaining how psychology relates to different interactions and understanding how learning occurs. Education is evolving with technology which makes it easier to network and make connections with new people.

App Smackdown- Trello

  The app Trello is a project management and organizational tool. You can visually organize your projects or tasks educationally and/or professionally. The app uses a board system which represents a project or a task. The lists on each board are to organize and track objectives within the project or task. Another beneficial attribute is that you can tag teammates, so your boards can be collaborative. Using Trello, as a nurse in a psychology unit, will be beneficial by planning all of my major tasks visually. For example if I have an important meeting coming up, I can make a Trello board, and include team members. With having a collaborative board of a certain task, I can show my team members what I am doing and what I have done.  Secondly, using Trello now throughout college could be very beneficial since I am very visual when it comes to planning out my coursework.
